U.S. Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has vowed to legalize recreational marijuana nationwide if she wins the election. Harris made the announcement on her X account, where she outlined her vision for marijuana reform and support for the emerging industry.
“I will legalize recreational marijuana, break down unjust legal barriers, and create opportunities for all Americans to succeed in this new industry,” she wrote.
This pledge is part of her campaign platform as she prepares to face Republican candidate and former President Donald Trump in tomorrow’s election. Harris became the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden opted not to run and endorsed her in July.
In addition to her policy plans, Harris has garnered substantial celebrity support, with endorsements from high-profile figures such as Beyoncé, Cardi B, Olivia Rodrigo, and Ariana Grande.
