Popular Nollywood actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi has announced plans to lead a protest on September 30 at the Lagos State House of Assembly to demand justice for the late singer Mohbad. This date coincides with the resumption of the coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death.
In an Instagram post, Fabiyi urged the public to join him in pressuring the police to access CCTV footage from Mohbad’s residence, which he believes is crucial to uncovering the truth behind the singer’s passing. He emphasized the need for the Lagos State government to intervene and establish a committee to retrieve this footage.
Fabiyi stated, “It is imperative that we mount legitimate pressure and protest peacefully.” He expressed frustration over the lack of action from the police regarding the retrieval of the CCTV data, insisting that the footage exists and holds vital evidence.
He called for unity, urging attendees to be orderly and civil during the protest, stating, “This struggle needs you. COME ONE, COME ALL, AND LET’S SPEAK IN ONE VOICE on the 30th of September 2024,” He said.
