Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence announced authorities had seized a cache of US‑manufactured firearms, ammunition, components for improvised explosive devices, and over 200 kilograms of explosives from several homes across different provinces, which officials allege were linked to “organized terrorist cells” allegedly backed by the United States and Israel.

Iranian statements claimed the suspected cells entered the country from Pakistan near the southeastern city of Zahedan and were preparing targeted assassinations, infrastructure sabotage, and violent operations aimed at exploiting public anger amid economic hardship.

Tehran further alleged that audio recordings exist of foreign operatives directing actions inside Iran, though no such recordings have been publicly released.

The announcement reflects heightened tensions as Iran faces widespread protests, economic distress, and an intensified security crackdown amid claims of foreign interference.
