Abdulmumuni Abiola, one of the sons of the late Chief MKO Abiola, has publicly expressed his deep resentment towards his elder brother, Kola Abiola, over a family inheritance dispute. In an emotional revelation, Abdulmumuni accused Kola of withholding their late father’s estate, which includes a £650,000 inheritance willed to MKO’s first four wives.

Speaking on the “Mic On Podcast,” hosted by Seun Okinbaloye on Saturday, October 5, 2024, Abdulmumuni disclosed that despite completing blood tests to confirm the rightful heirs, Kola has refused to distribute the inheritance. “We did blood tests so we had a list of qualifying children. If you look at the will and see how systematic it is, my father names the wives and apportions the money to them,” Abdulmumuni said.

He further explained that his mother, Kudirat Olayinka Abiola, was allocated £150,000 in the will. However, Kola allegedly blocked the release of the funds, citing British law, which he claimed prevented him from giving the money since Kudirat had passed away before MKO. “He also said his mum is dead and he didn’t get the £300,000 for his mother,” Abdulmumuni continued, describing the situation as unfair and questionable.

Adding to the grievances, Abdulmumuni accused Kola of selling their mother’s apartment in the UK without informing him or his siblings. “It seems like a systematic effort to impoverish my mum’s side of the family. For that reason, I don’t think I will be able to forgive him,” he concluded.

The feud has highlighted longstanding tensions within the Abiola family over the management and distribution of their father’s vast estate.
