Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on Thursday decorated more than 100 newly promoted officers in the Delta State Police Command, urging them to remain committed to their duties.

The decoration ceremony took place at the Delta State Police Command headquarters in Asaba and was presided over by the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, on behalf of the IGP.

Speaking during the event, CP Olufemi said:

“We are all smiling and merry as the Command witnessed the decoration of newly promoted officers today. I want you to remember that the reward for hard work is more work. Therefore, I advise you to put in more effort while discharging your duties and ensure you don’t disappoint the Inspector General of Police and the public.”

Among those decorated were DCP Ado Ibrahim, previously the Assistant Commissioner in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID); ACP Sadiq M. Mana, former DPO of ‘A’ Division Ughelli; and ACP Maiyaki Joyce Mathew, former DPO of Kwale Division.

Other officers recognized include CSP Obekpa Michael, Admin Officer in the Department of Operations; CSP Omo-Uwuigbe Nosakhare, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad; and CSP Mohammed Balarabe Ibrahim, Commander of the Crack Squad in Delta State.

Several other officers promoted to the ranks of Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) were also decorated during the ceremony.
