The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has filed multiple charges against former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and is set to arraign him before a Federal High Court in Kaduna.
The charges include allegations of conversion and possession of public property as well as money laundering, with the case filed under suit number FHC/KD/73/2026.
El-Rufai is expected to be arraigned alongside one Joel Adoga in the federal case, while a separate set of charges has also been filed against him and another defendant at a Kaduna State High Court.
The state-level charges reportedly cover offences such as abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud and conferring undue advantage.
The anti-graft agency disclosed that both cases were filed on March 18, 2026, as part of its efforts to prosecute alleged corruption-related offences.
The commission also confirmed that El-Rufai has been duly served with the charges and reiterated its commitment to due process and the rule of law.
