
A young boy from Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, Samuel, popularly known as Radio Boi, has secured a job and a full scholarship from Agidigbo 88.7 FM after a video of him delivering a news broadcast in Yoruba went viral online.
The viral clip showed Samuel washing dishes while demonstrating his newscasting skills, using his brother as an example. His fluency and charisma captured the hearts of many on social media, drawing attention to his talent.
In response to his growing popularity, Agidigbo FM’s owner, Oriyomi Hamzat, offered Samuel employment as the station’s youngest On-Air Personality (OAP) alongside a scholarship to support his education.
Hamzat, in a video recorded at the radio station, stated that the employment letter presented to Samuel officially recognizes him as a staff member and guarantees both practical training and mentorship in broadcasting.
“Today, I employed you as a staff member of Agidigbo FM. You are the youngest OAP. We are the ones who will train you, sponsor you until you finish school, and also pay you a salary,” Hamzat said.
Samuel, accompanied by his brothers, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity, prostrating in appreciation.
