In a candid conversation on the talk show “Talk to B,” Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, affectionately known as Queen Mother, shared harrowing details from her childhood, revealing that she had been raped five times.
The emotional discussion with her colleague Biola Bayo, which aired on Friday, January 3, 2025, highlighted the troubling issue of rape apologists in society.
“I was raped five times in my life. I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists. I don’t care who the person is; if that person is my son, I am going to come for him unapologetically,” Ojo declared, emphasizing her commitment to accountability in cases of sexual violence.
Ojo also recounted a painful chapter in her life when her father disowned her over her choice of husband. “The only time I lacked was when I insisted this was the man I was going to get married to because, at that time, my dad and I disowned each other,” she shared.
Reflecting on her father’s struggles with addiction, Ojo revealed that his battle with alcohol and drugs ultimately led to his premature death at the age of 40. “My dad did everything, alcohol and drugs, so it messed him up at a young age. He died,” she said, shedding light on the impact of addiction on families.
Ojo’s revelations have sparked conversations about the importance of addressing sexual violence and the stigma surrounding victims, as well as the need for accountability in society.
