A Canada-based Nigerian woman, Amaka Patience Sunnberger, has defiantly dismissed concerns about potential arrest or deportation following accusations of inciting violence against Yoruba and Benin people. This comes after the Nigerian House of Representatives urged the Canadian government to take action against her.
In a viral video shared widely on X, Sunnberger confidently stated, “Somebody just send me message, say them arrest me, say them wan deport me, with passport? I be Canada pikin. See am now, I dey house, why I go dey lie?” She emphasized that her Canadian citizenship offers protection against such actions, contrasting it with Nigeria’s legal system.
The controversy erupted after Sunnberger made alarming threats against Yoruba and Benin individuals during a TikTok virtual meeting, prompting significant outrage. The Nigerian House of Representatives has formally requested that the Canadian government investigate and prosecute her for violating both international and Canadian laws.
