Hunter Biden, son of U.S. President Joe Biden, has filed a lawsuit against Fox News, alleging the network broadcast nude images of him in a 2022 miniseries that amounts to “revenge porn.”

The series, The Trial of Hunter Biden, aired on Fox Nation and portrayed a fictional criminal trial of Biden, including real, intimate images of him.

The lawsuit, filed Monday, claims the series aimed to humiliate and tarnish Biden’s reputation by showing nude images and depictions of him engaged in sex acts. According to the complaint, these images were taken from a laptop Biden left at a repair shop and never retrieved. The laptop’s contents have since fueled numerous conspiracy theories and political attacks.

“Fox published and disseminated these intimate images to its vast audience of millions as part of an entertainment program in order to humiliate, harass, annoy and alarm Mr. Biden and to tarnish his reputation,” the complaint states.

Fox News responded to the lawsuit, calling it “entirely politically motivated” and asserting that the program was removed from its platform in April 2024, following a complaint from Biden. “Consistent with the First Amendment, Fox News has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court,” the network said.

Hunter Biden has faced significant legal troubles, including a recent conviction for illegal firearm possession and an upcoming trial for tax fraud, which may impact President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign.
