Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Mrs. Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, in Arepo, Ogun State.

The incident occurred on Friday morning at the gate of her residence in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, as she was returning home from an outing.

Eyewitnesses reported that four masked men ambushed Mrs. Odumosu, firing sporadically into the air to scare off onlookers before forcibly dragging her out of her Lexus Jeep. She was then whisked away through a swampy area to an unknown location.

Confirming the incident, Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, stated that security operatives had been deployed to ensure her rescue.

“Information was received regarding the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, a female resident of Aminu Street, Arepo, Ogun State,” she said.

She further disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) is leading a search team through the swampy terrain, hoping to track down the assailants and secure the victim’s release.

The abduction adds to the growing concerns over kidnappings in Ogun State and across Nigeria, with many calling for tighter security measures to combat the rising trend of criminal activities.

Police authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could aid in locating the kidnappers and ensuring Mrs. Odumosu’s safe return.
