Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu attended the Lagos Food Festival on Sunday, where he personally demonstrated his cooking skills, interacted with residents, and celebrated the city’s vibrant culture.
The event, themed ‘Taste Beyond Borders’, was held at Muri Okunola Park on Victoria Island and featured a wide array of local and international cuisine, live music, and a festive atmosphere.
Governor Sanwo-Olu shared his experience from the festival on his social media account, writing that he had a great time meeting people and enjoying the incredible range of food on display.
He specifically highlighted his own participation in the cooking, stating, “I cooked. Literally. I showed off a bit of my cooking skills, and the food tasted fantastic.”
The governor praised the unique spirit of Lagos, noting the event showcased the city’s rich flavours, creativity, and energetic vibe.
The festival attracted a diverse crowd, including members of the state’s executive council and house of assembly, current and former public officials, traditional rulers, celebrity chefs, students, and numerous food vendors.
Several participants also had the opportunity to showcase their culinary talents during the event, with some winning prizes for their efforts.
The governor’s informal and engaged presence at the festival underscored a focus on community, youth culture, and the promotion of Lagos as a dynamic and creative hub.
