In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the community, the Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a gospel singer, Timilehin Ajayi, for the alleged murder and dismemberment of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Salome Enejo, who was serving as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The disturbing crime is suspected to be linked to ritualistic practices.

According to the police spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, Enejo was stationed in Abuja for her NYSC before her tragic death at the hands of Ajayi. The suspect was apprehended by local churchgoers on Sunday in Orozo, a community that borders the Federal Capital Territory, after he was seen carrying a polybag containing the severed head of his girlfriend.

In an exclusive interview with newsmen, Caleb Umaru, the Bible Study Teacher and General Secretary of the church, recounted the events leading to Ajayi’s arrest. A church member had observed Ajayi behaving suspiciously near a river, prompting immediate concern. The member, identified as Brother Victor, alerted others when he saw Ajayi disposing of a bag into the river. Upon retrieval, the bag was discovered to contain the gruesome evidence of Enejo’s head.

Umaru described the scene, stating, “It was just before the end of the service, around 11 a.m., during the final pledge and prayers. A church member, Brother Victor, opened his eyes during the prayers and noticed someone walking suspiciously by the river near the church, carrying a bag. His movements caught Victor’s attention, prompting him to act.”

The investigation is ongoing as the police delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this heinous act, which has left many in the community in shock and disbelief.
