Galatasaray has finalized the permanent transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli in a historic deal worth €75 million, making it the most expensive signing in Turkish football history. The agreement includes an upfront payment of €40 million, with the remaining €35 million to be paid by the end of 2026.
Additionally, the contract contains a two-year clause preventing Galatasaray from selling Osimhen to any Italian club, along with a 10% sell-on fee for Napoli.
Osimhen, who impressed immensely during his loan spell at Galatasaray in the 2024-25 season by scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances, rejected a lucrative €160 million contract offer from Saudi Arabia to remain in Europe.
He is expected to sign a four-year deal with an annual salary of €18 million and will be officially unveiled in Istanbul soon as the club’s star striker.
The signing has generated significant excitement among Galatasaray fans, who are eagerly anticipating his return after his pivotal role in helping the club secure a historic league and cup double.
The club plans a grand unveiling event, expecting to recoup approximately €5 million through ticket sales and merchandise, which will partially offset their financial outlay.
Despite interest from major Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United, Osimhen chose to stay with Galatasaray, where he is highly valued and set to be a key figure in their upcoming campaigns.
This transfer marks a major coup for the Turkish giants as they continue to build a competitive team for both domestic and European competitions.
