The Minister of State for Petroleum in Nigeria , Heineken Lokpobiri, has assured Nigerians that fuel will be available across the country by the weekend. This announcement came moments after Lokpobiri met with Vice President Kashim Shettima, who convened the meeting following President Bola Tinubu’s directive.
Speaking to State House correspondents, Lokpobiri stated: “We were summoned by the Vice President, who was directed by Mr. President to call this meeting. The President is empathetic about the hardships faced by Nigerians, and that is why he called for this meeting to address the situation.”
He emphasized that there is sufficient fuel in the country and expressed confidence that by the weekend, there will be a noticeable improvement in availability. Lokpobiri added that while fuel prices may vary across different regions, the government does not control the prices because the sector is deregulated. He urged Nigerians to remain patient, noting, “With the availability of products, the price will find its level.”
