The Federal Government has announced free train services across the country from December 20, 2024, to January 6, 2025, aimed at cushioning high transportation costs during the Christmas season.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a briefing with State House correspondents after a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The announcement underscores the government’s commitment to easing travel burdens during the festive season, a period characterized by increased movement and high transportation fares.
Idris also revealed that cabinet members would commence their recess on December 18, 2024, and resume on January 6, 2025.
This initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to support Nigerians during the holiday period while fostering economic activity nationwide.
