Former Kaduna State Governor Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai has filed a fundamental rights suit against the Kaduna State House of Assembly, challenging his indictment in the N432 billion probe report.
The lawsuit, submitted to the Federal High Court in Kaduna, alleges that the House Committee failed to provide him a fair hearing regarding accusations of money laundering and financial infractions during his tenure.
El-Rufai’s lawyer, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, SAN, filed the suit in response to the House Committee’s findings, which initiated an investigation into loans, financial transactions, contractual liabilities, and related matters dating from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023. The probe, launched in April, has been a focal point of controversy as it progresses.
