The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the arrest warrant issued against Ezekiel Onyedikachi, popularly known as Eezee Tee, the former manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.

Justice Alexander Owoeye had initially issued a bench warrant against Eezee Tee last week following an ex parte motion filed by the EFCC. However, during a court session on Friday, EFCC counsel Bilikisu Buhari requested the withdrawal of the warrant.

Mercy Chinwo had accused her former manager of diverting $345,000 in royalties from her digital platforms and events. In response, Eezee Tee dismissed the allegations, accusing the singer of breaching their contract and being ungrateful.

The EFCC’s decision to withdraw the warrant came after Eezee Tee’s legal team pleaded with the court, stating that their client was unaware of the initial summons but had now assured his voluntary appearance in court.

Following this resolution, the court adjourned the case to February 14, 2025, for Eezee Tee’s formal arraignment.
