The Department of State Services (DSS) operatives in Nigeria have successfully neutralized one kidnapper and apprehended another involved in the abduction of Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of popular Kano-based Hausa singer, Dauda Rarara.
Gunmen had forcibly entered Rarara’s mother’s residence in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government Area of Kano State, and kidnapped her on June 28, 2024. After 20 days in captivity, she regained her freedom.
According to a source within the secret service, N26.5 million was recovered during a covert operation. The tactical team of the Kano command, leveraging reliable intelligence, intercepted a gang of five bandits in Makarfi bush while they were dividing the ransom money.
“One Hamisu Tukur is currently in custody with gunshot injuries, while Bature was killed,” the source reported.
