Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been removed from suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, nearly two weeks after his arrest on federal charges related to sex trafficking. The 54-year-old rapper was detained on September 16 by Homeland Security agents on suspicion of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and interstate transportation for prostitution.
A source close to Diddy’s legal team revealed that he remains “focused and very strong” as he prepares for his trial. “He’s concentrating on his defense and is determined to fight these charges,” the source stated. Family members have also visited Diddy during his time in custody.
In addition to the existing charges, Diddy is now facing fresh allegations. On Friday, a new lawsuit was filed by a woman, identified as Jane Doe, accusing him of drugging and repeatedly sexually assaulting her at his home. The suit also claims that the woman became pregnant after one of the encounters and later suffered a miscarriage after pressure from Diddy’s associates to terminate the pregnancy.
The woman’s legal team, led by attorneys Marie Napoli and Joseph Ciaccio, allege that Diddy and his associates exploited her vulnerability, often coercing her into traveling to his homes across various cities, including New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. “At every visit, she was plied with alcohol and substances until she passed out. She would wake up with bruising and injuries but no recollection of how she sustained them,” the lawsuit reads.
The legal filing claims that Diddy used his influence and wealth to control her through fear and manipulation. “Powerful figures in the entertainment industry have long exploited aspiring artists and fans,” said Napoli. “Fame and wealth do not protect Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs from serious allegations of sex trafficking and abuse.”
Diddy is expected to appear in court in early October to face the federal charges. Meanwhile, the newly filed sexual assault lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for physical and emotional harm inflicted on the plaintiff.
Combs’ legal team has yet to comment on the new allegations.
