Veteran Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has stated that Afrobeats superstar Davido’s influence has outshined that of his billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke.
In a thought-provoking discussion on respect, age, and achievement, Chatta emphasized that true recognition is based on one’s accomplishments rather than age. He argued that individuals who achieve greatness, regardless of their years, command the same level of respect as elders.
Citing historical figures such as Alexander the Great, Chatta explained that remarkable success earns individuals an undeniable status. He extended this analogy to the Nigerian music industry, asserting that artists like Wizkid and Davido have reached a level of influence that transcends their age.
“The day I sat down with Davido, I observed the people surrounding him—individuals ready to do anything for him,” Chatta recounted. “He is an elder. Yes, his father is a billionaire and has been instrumental in their family’s success, but doesn’t Davido shine differently? Davido’s father is wealthy, but Davido’s presence is unmatched. If his father walks down the street in Oyo, many might not recognize him. But Davido? If he steps into Akesan, a stampede would occur.”
Chatta’s comments have sparked discussions on the power of influence and the evolving definitions of leadership in entertainment and beyond.
