Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to a viral video showing him apparently slapping his bodyguard, Segxy, at his recent wedding ceremony. The clip, which emerged online a week after the wedding, has generated significant controversy and debate.
In reaction to the backlash, Davido took to his X handle, stating, “Note: F#ck what people gotta say! Stay active,” indicating his indifference to public opinion and criticism surrounding the incident.
Adding clarity to the situation, Segxy, the bodyguard involved, has broken his silence. He described the video as “fake” and emphasized that Davido did not slap him. “My boss didn’t slap me and has never slapped any of his staff before. He was only cautioning me to allow the boy. The boy in question appeared from nowhere beside us, and I tried to stop him,” Segxy explained on his Instagram account.
Segxy further elaborated, “As regards the fake video flying on the internet, y’all commenting sh*t you don’t know… Besides, my boss is my blood and family. I understand him so well without a word from his mouth.. 30BG for life.”
