Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been featured on King Charles III’s special Commonwealth Music playlist.
The playlist, set for release on Monday, March 11, is part of the Commonwealth Day celebrations and highlights music from various Commonwealth nations. Titled The King’s Music Room, the project includes renowned artists such as Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Raye, and Davido.
King Charles III, in collaboration with Apple Music, curated the playlist with songs that evoke personal memories and joy from different stages of his life.
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me,” the King said in a statement.
A known admirer of reggae and African music, King Charles III once visited Bob Marley’s home in Jamaica. A promotional trailer for The King’s Music Room features the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace performing Marley’s Could You Be Loved.
According to the British monarch, music serves as a source of comfort during difficult times, lifts spirits, and unites people in celebration.
