Afrobeats superstar Davido has expressed his pride after retaining his record as the only artist to occupy the top 16 spots on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs Chart for two consecutive days.
This achievement, set with his album Timeless in 2023, remains unbroken despite the release of Wizkid’s highly anticipated new album, Morayo.
Although Morayo broke several records on Spotify, songs from the album did not secure the top 16 spots for two consecutive days, a feat that Timeless accomplished upon its release.
A music-monitoring platform, The Data Dash, highlighted this in a post on X (formerly Twitter):
“@davido remains the only artist to occupy the Top 16 spots on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs Chart for 2 consecutive days, with all new songs from his album Timeless.”
Reacting to the post, Davido confidently reposted with the caption:
“Remains the only!”
Fans of both artists have since taken to social media to debate their achievements, reigniting the longstanding rivalry between the two Afrobeats giants.
