The management of Dangote Refinery has strongly denied reports that it has set a fixed price of ₦600 per litre for petrol. The company described these claims as “speculative announcements” with no factual basis.

In a statement released on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote Industries Limited, addressed the issue, stating, “Our attention has been drawn to headlines announcing ‘Marketers Project ₦600/litre for Dangote Petrol,’ published in Punch Newspapers on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. We would like to clarify that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is not our business partner yet.”

Chiejina emphasized that the refinery has not engaged in any discussions with IPMAN regarding the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). “We have never discussed the price of PMS with them, and they have no mandate or authority to speak for us,” he added.

The company urged the public to disregard such speculative reports and assured stakeholders that any official communication regarding fuel pricing would be made through authorized channels.
