The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is set to meet with Dangote Refinery this week to discuss the direct lifting of Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) and potential price reductions.
Chief Chinedu Ukadike, IPMAN’s spokesperson, expressed optimism about commencing direct petrol distribution from Dangote.
Ukadike noted that despite the refinery’s operations, distribution challenges persist within the oil and gas sector. He stated, “We are hopeful that with time, it will start distributing to independent marketers,” as the refinery currently focuses on major marketers.
Following the recent commencement of Dangote fuel distribution, petrol prices at various retail outlets range from N950 to N1,100, varying by location. The Crude Oil Refiners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) has called on the government to peg foreign exchange at N1,000 per dollar to help lower petrol prices to below N600 per litre.
