Cristiano dos Santos, the eldest son of five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, has been called up to the Portugal Under-15 national team for the first time. The 14-year-old, who plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia like his father, has also spent time in the youth setups of Manchester United and Juventus, clubs where Ronaldo himself once starred.
The Portugal Under-15 team is set to compete in the Vlatko Markovic youth tournament in Croatia from May 13 to 18. During the tournament, they will face Japan, Greece, and England in the group stage, with a fourth match scheduled for May 18 against an opponent yet to be determined.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who remains an active Portugal international at 40 and is Real Madrid’s all-time top goal scorer, has five children. He famously helped Portugal win their first major international trophy at Euro 2016, despite leaving the final early due to injury.
The inclusion of his son in the national youth team highlights the continuation of the Ronaldo legacy in Portuguese football and raises expectations for the young player’s future career on the international stage.
