A Federal High Court in Lagos, Nigeria, has ordered the remand of three staff members of the Lagos State House of Assembly in the custody of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) over allegations of assaulting DSS officers.

The accused—identified as Ibrahim Olanrewaju, Adetu Adekunle, and Fatimoh Adetola—were detained pending their formal arraignment. Justice Daniel Osiagor, presiding over the case, stated that he needed to review the charges before the defendants could enter their pleas.

According to the charge sheet (FHC/L/273C/2025), dated February 24, 2025, the DSS alleged that the trio, alongside others still at large, conspired to attack its officers while they were performing official duties at the Lagos State House of Assembly on February 17.

The agency also accused the defendants of cyberstalking, alleging that they recorded and distributed false information on social media to incite unrest and disrupt public order. Specifically, Olanrewaju and Adekunle were said to have used an iPhone 12 Pro Max to spread misleading content, while Adekunle allegedly used a Tecno POP 8 for similar activities.

The charges against them include conspiracy to commit a felony, obstruction of lawful duties, and cyber-related offences under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Act and Sections 27(1)(b), 24(1)(b), 24(c)(i), and 11 of the Cybercrimes Act (as amended in 2024).

The court has yet to announce a date for their arraignment.
