The Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria, has delayed its ruling on a lawsuit challenging the appointment of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Initially set for September 18, the judgment has been postponed to September 23, 2024, due to the unavailability of the written decision.

The lawsuit, brought by the North Central APC Forum led by Saleh Zazzaga, argues that Ganduje’s appointment violates the APC’s constitution, claiming the position should be occupied by someone from the North Central region rather than Ganduje, who hails from the North West.

The plaintiffs are seeking to prevent Ganduje from acting as the party’s chairman and have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disregard actions taken by the APC since his appointment.
