Convicted billionaire kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, commonly known as Evans, and his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, who are facing charges of murder and attempted kidnapping, have chosen to pursue a plea bargain option.

The decision was revealed by the state lead counsel, Mr. Yusuf Sule, during a court session on Thursday before Justice Adenike Cokers at an Ikeja High Court.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the defendants were scheduled for re-arraignment on an amended five-count charge related to murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit felony (kidnapping), and attempt to murder. Sule informed the court about the plea bargain option, indicating that the defendants had applied for it.

However, Sule mentioned that the plea bargain terms were still under consideration by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN). The development suggests a potential shift in the legal proceedings surrounding Evans and his co-defendant, with implications for the outcome of the case.
