Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been ranked fourth in the inaugural Women’s Yachine Trophy at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.
The ceremony took place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.
Nnadozie’s impressive performance helped Nigeria’s Super Falcons win the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where she kept four clean sheets in six matches and earned the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper award.
She has also been named CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year twice.
The top five goalkeepers in the Women’s Yachine Trophy are:
- 1. Hannah Hampton: England and Chelsea goalkeeper, who won the prize after inspiring England to Euro 2025 victory and helping Chelsea secure a domestic treble.
- 2. Ann-Katrin Berger: Germany’s goalkeeper, who finished second in the ranking.
- 3. Cata Coll: Spain and Barcelona’s goalkeeper, who came third.
- 4. Chiamaka Nnadozie: Nigeria and Brighton & Hove Albion’s goalkeeper, who made history as the first African to be nominated for the award.
- 5. Daphne van Domselaar: The Netherlands and Arsenal’s goalkeeper.
Nnadozie’s recognition marks a significant milestone in her career, solidifying her position as one of the top goalkeepers in women’s football. Her recent move to Brighton & Hove Albion has seen her make an impressive start.
