The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a significant 52% increase in prize money for the upcoming Women’s Champions League. This adjustment, published on CAF’s official website, will apply to all teams participating in the 2024 tournament in Morocco this November.
Previously, participating teams received $100,000 each, with winners taking home $400,000, while the runners-up and semifinalists received $250,000 and $200,000, respectively. Under the new structure, each team will now earn a minimum of $150,000. The champion will be awarded $600,000, with the runners-up receiving $400,000, third place $350,000, and fourth place $300,000. This increase underscores CAF’s commitment to elevating women’s football on the continent.
This year’s competition will take place from November 9 to November 23 in El Jadida and Casablanca, Morocco, with Nigerian champions Edo Queens making their debut appearance.
