Today, May 17, 2024, East London will witness the solemn burial of Daniel Anjorin, a 14-year-old boy who tragically fell victim to a samurai sword attack.
Daniel, fondly remembered by his family as a ‘wonderful’ and ‘hardworking’ young man, will be laid to rest following a funeral service at Jubilee Church London at 11 am. His final resting place will be in an East London cemetery.
The incident unfolded on April 30 as Daniel made his way to school, resulting in severe injuries. More than 300 individuals gathered for a poignant vigil on May 5, where Daniel’s friend Harris expressed heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of support and honored Daniel’s memory.
In the wake of Daniel’s untimely passing, Marcus Arduini Monzo, a 36-year-old resident of Newham, was charged with his murder and other related offenses. Among those wounded were two Metropolitan Police officers.
Daniel was a pupil at Bancroft’s private school in Woodford Green, sharing a connection with another victim of knife violence, Grace O’Malley-Kumar.
