Borno State’s Commissioner for Finance, Ahmed Ali Ahmed, was discovered dead in his apartment on Monday morning, August 26, 2024.
The commissioner’s death was confirmed after concerned individuals noticed that he had not emerged from his residence at his usual time. Upon forcibly entering his apartment, they found him unresponsive.
“Oga is no more, he died early this morning,” a source told newsmen.
In an official statement, the Borno State Government, Nigeria, confirmed the tragic news. Professor Usman Tar, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, announced that the burial will take place at 5:00 p.m. today at the family house of the late commissioner, located on Damboa Road, behind Indimi’s residence in Maiduguri.
This marks the second time Governor Babagana Zulum has lost a member of his cabinet within the past year, adding to the state’s recent string of misfortunes.
