Social media personality Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has been transferred to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office in Abuja. The crossdresser faces interrogation over allegations of bribery and corruption after reportedly claiming to have paid a ₦15 million bribe to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him.

Bobrisky was detained Thursday night while attempting to board a KLM flight to Amsterdam from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The EFCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwajaren, confirmed that Bobrisky could face additional charges if the bribery allegations prove to be false. The EFCC emphasized that making false accusations against the commission is a serious offense.

An EFCC representative noted that Bobrisky had been invited for questioning multiple times but failed to comply. “He who alleges must be ready to prove,” the official stated, adding that the agency had no choice but to detain him to substantiate the claims.
