The Bauchi State Emirate Council in Nigeria has revoked the traditional title of “Mujaddadin Bauchi” from Senator Shehu Buba, who represents Bauchi South, following his criticism of Governor Bala Mohammed.

In a letter dated August 14, 2024, the Emirate Council, led by the Emir of Bauchi, stated that Senator Buba’s remarks were insulting and disrespectful, violating the culture and traditions of the Emirate.

The controversy began during the kickoff of the APC local government elections campaign in Bauchi, where Senator Buba accused Governor Mohammed of poor governance and failing to distribute palliatives like rice and fertilizers. He also criticized the governor for his political aspirations and accused him of mismanaging federal resources.
