Musician and politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has embarked on a new academic journey following his loss in the 2023 Nigerian general election.
In an Instagram update on Friday, Banky W shared that he is now pursuing a master’s degree in policy at Georgetown University. “Sometimes you have to let go of what is impressive to gain what is important,” he wrote. “The journey of faith continues. Please wish me well.”
This academic pursuit follows his recent political defeat in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State, where he ran as a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but lost to Labour Party’s Thaddeus Attah.
Banky W’s new venture comes shortly after recovering from his fourth cancer surgery, marking another significant chapter in his life.
