Popular Yoruba Nollywood actor, Babatunde Tayo, widely known as Baba Tee, has admitted to having a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, popularly called Ijoba Lande.
Baba Tee made the revelation during a live interview with socialite Esabod and other TikTok users on Sunday, contradicting his earlier denial of the affair. Initially, the actor had challenged Lande to provide evidence or face legal consequences for defamation.
Ijoba Lande recently alleged that his wife was involved with at least 21 men in the entertainment industry, including Baba Tee, whom he mentioned in a viral interview and Instagram post. Baba Tee had previously dismissed the claim, stating that he only met Dara once through actress Marygold, who introduced her as a content creator and aspiring artist, not as Lande’s wife.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, Baba Tee confessed to engaging in a “short” sexual encounter with Dara, explaining that it happened during a game of “Truth or Dare” while he was under the influence of alcohol. He claimed that Marygold played a significant role in the situation by daring Dara to sleep with him.
“When Marygold and Dara visited my house, I was unaware that she (Dara) was Lande’s wife. Marygold had introduced her as a content creator,” Baba Tee explained. “During a game of ‘Truth or Dare,’ Marygold removed her clothes and kept daring me to engage with Dara. Under the influence of alcohol, I had a brief encounter with her. I only discovered later that it was a setup.”
Following the confession, Esabod advised Baba Tee to formally apologize to Ijoba Lande, as his initial denial had painted the comedian as a liar. Shortly after, Baba Tee took to his official Facebook page to issue an apology.
“I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. Deep how Dara became Lande’s wife without my knowledge… Hmmm. I fear women,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Marygold, who reportedly managed Ijoba Lande’s career, has been accused of recording the encounter and playing a role in the scandal.
The controversy has sparked mixed reactions, with many questioning the integrity of those involved and the prevalence of infidelity within the entertainment industry.
