Veteran Nigerian comedians AY Makun and Basketmouth have opened up about their long-standing feud that spanned 18 years. During an episode of the Glass House podcast, both comedians shared insights on how their public rift began in 2006 and its impact on their personal and professional lives.

AY remarked that he was uncertain how the feud started, stating, “Every day I wake up thinking boys will be boys, and like that, it grows into several years.” He added that their strained relationship had unfortunate repercussions, especially as both were viewed as “providers” within the industry.

Basketmouth echoed this sentiment, explaining how their rivalry influenced the loyalty of others in the entertainment scene. “When we were not on good terms, some people made it their business to pick sides. Now that we are cool, they’d probably be confused,” he noted, highlighting the potential for unity over competition.

Their reunion in September marked the first time they appeared together publicly since their reconciliation, signaling a new chapter for the comedy icons.
