Popular Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, is making headlines after a video of his alleged father surfaced online, pleading for financial assistance.
In the viral video shared on Nigerian X, a man identified as Mr. Fatai Odunsi claims to be the biological father of the Grammy-nominated Terminator crooner. He alleges that Asake has abandoned him since March 2022, despite his deteriorating health following a stroke.
Odunsi, who appeared frail in the video, lamented that repeated attempts to contact his alleged son have gone unanswered. He urged Nigerians to come to his aid, emphasizing his urgent need for medical and financial support.
“I am the biological father of Asake, who is into music. Babatunde Ololade Ayinde Mr. Money—I am his father,” Odunsi stated in the clip. “When this thing (stroke) started on March 29, 2022, that was the last time I saw him. Even when I call his number, he doesn’t pick up, and I am fed up.”
The video has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many questioning the authenticity of Odunsi’s claim while others express concern over the alleged abandonment.
Asake has yet to respond to the allegations.
This development comes shortly after reports surfaced that Asake had parted ways with Olamide’s YBNL label to launch his own record label.
