Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has reconciled with his father, Fatai Odunsi, after a viral video showed the elderly man calling for assistance over his deteriorating health and financial struggles.
Odunsi, who suffers from partial paralysis due to a stroke, had publicly pleaded for help, stating that Asake had neglected him despite his success in the music industry. However, in a recent interview, Odunsi expressed gratitude, revealing that Asake had reached out, promised to buy him a house, settle his medical bills, and take care of his daughter.
“He has said they should look for a house for me, and they have been searching since yesterday,” Odunsi stated in Yoruba, adding that he was now proud of his son.
Meanwhile, Asake has also faced allegations from a woman identified as Adijat, who claims to be his baby mama. She accused the singer of abandoning their 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat, and blocking her from contacting him after he rose to fame.
Asake, in a cryptic TikTok post, addressed the controversy, singing in Yoruba: “You can’t please everyone… My own father wants to cajole me, and I have sent so much money to him.”
Despite the backlash, netizens have praised Asake for stepping up to support his family, with many commending his decision to take responsibility.
