Annie Idibia, the estranged wife of Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has sparked fresh reactions after dropping his surname in her latest social media post.
Nearly two months after 2Baba publicly announced their separation, Annie resurfaced on Instagram on Thursday, expressing gratitude to her family, friends, and supporters. While her bio still retains “Idibia,” she signed off the post using her maiden name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, noticeably omitting her husband’s surname.
“To my family, to my friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family here and all over the world. God bless you for the outpouring of love. I appreciate every single one of you and do not take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favor. God bless you all. Lots of love. Annie Uwana Macaulay,” she wrote.
Annie and 2Baba, who share two children, officially ended their marriage in January 2025 when the singer publicly confirmed their split. Since then, 2Baba has moved on and proposed to his new fiancée, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.
