Onyinyechi Basil, representing Anambra State, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025. The event was hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson.
From the initial 22 contestants revealed on August 26, the competition was narrowed to the top 10 and then the final five, including Miss Ogun, Miss Lagos, Miss Akwa Ibom, Miss Anambra, and Miss Bayelsa.
Basil emerged as the winner after excelling in multiple segments such as swimwear, traditional costume, evening wear, and the question-and-answer round.
Damilola Bolarinde (Lagos) was named first runner-up, while Fortune Kurobo (Bayelsa) and Irene Ikediashi (Ogun) finished as second and third runners-up respectively.
Miss Akwa Ibom, Idah Eno, was crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.
As the winner, Basil will represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant scheduled for November 20, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.
She will also receive a cash prize, material gifts, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and paid appearances.
