The late elder statesman and nationalist, Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, will be laid to rest in his hometown of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria on May 3, 2025.
A statement signed by Ms. Ayotunde Ayo-Adebanjo, Mrs. Adeola Azeez, and Mr. Obafemi Ayo-Adebanjo on behalf of the family confirmed the burial arrangements.
According to the statement, the funeral proceedings will begin with a Day of Tributes/Service of Songs at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos. This will be followed by a Wake at Adebanjo’s country home in Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, on May 2. The interment and a reception for guests will take place at the same venue the following day.
A Thanksgiving Service is scheduled for May 4 at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, starting at 10 a.m.
The family has called on friends, political associates, and well-wishers to support them with prayers for a befitting burial.
