
Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has been inaugurated as the 32nd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos. He succeeds Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, whose term ended on Thursday.
In his inaugural address, Osigwe committed to holding both federal and state governments accountable during his tenure. He expressed gratitude to his opponents, Tobenna Erojikwe and Chukwukwa Ikwazom, SAN, for their sportsmanship during the election process and extended an invitation for them to collaborate in advancing the association.
Osigwe promised to lead an inclusive bar that fosters unity and progresses the NBA’s objectives. The inauguration of Osigwe and other national officers marks the conclusion of the NBA’s week-long annual general conference, which began on August 23rd.
