The Nigerian Army has launched an investigation into Brigadier General M.A. Sadiq, the former Commander of the 3 Brigade in Kano, over alleged “administrative discrepancies.” Reports suggest that General Sadiq is accused of diverting rice palliatives meant for soldiers under his command, raising concerns about misconduct.

In a statement released by Army spokesman Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, it was clarified that “the senior officer has been relieved of command to ensure a thorough investigation.” He further emphasized the Army’s stance on the matter, stating that the institution is “founded on the bedrock of discipline, justice, and accountability” and that it “has zero tolerance for indiscipline.”

The Army also assured the public that “the allegations will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate administrative action will be taken,” maintaining that the process will be “fair, impartial, and in line with our established procedures.”

This investigation is part of the Army’s commitment to upholding the “highest standards of integrity and transparency.”
