Grammy Award-winning artiste, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has been recognized as the biggest Nigerian artist of all time on Apple Music. This accolade was announced by the streaming giant as part of its celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.

Apple Music unveiled the Top 10 most streamed Nigerian artists and songs in the platform’s history, with Burna Boy leading the list. He is followed by other Nigerian music heavyweights such as Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Asake.

Completing the list are Tems, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Olamide.

In addition to artiste recognition, Apple Music also revealed that Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ remix featuring Selena Gomez is the most streamed Nigerian song of all time on the platform. The track is followed by Burna Boy’s hit ‘Last Last’ and Wizkid’s iconic song ‘Essence’ featuring Tems.

Other notable tracks in the top 10 include Tems’ ‘Free Mind’ at number four and Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ at number five. Dave and Burna Boy’s ‘Location’, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Burna Boy’s ‘On The Low’, and Wizkid’s ‘Come Closer’ featuring Drake round off the list.

Apple Music also highlighted Nigeria’s cultural and musical diversity by spotlighting nine rising Afrobeats stars from various regions, including 2Baba (Jos), Omah Lay (Port Harcourt), Odumodublvck (Abuja), and Shallipopi (Benin City). The tribute showcases the widespread impact and growing influence of Nigerian music across the globe.
