The world’s largest Afrobeats and Amapiano festival, Afro Nation, is gearing up to celebrate its fifth anniversary in 2025 with a star-studded lineup. The festival, which takes place from 9th to 11th July 2025 on the beautiful beaches of Portimao, Portugal, is set to bring together some of the biggest names in Afrobeats, Amapiano, and global African music culture.
Following the announcement of Burna Boy and Tems as headliners earlier this week, Afro Nation Portugal has confirmed even more musical heavyweights for the LIT Stage. Leading the charge is Ayra Starr, the Benin-born sensation known for her collaborations with Stormzy and her distinctive voice that has made waves across the Afrobeats scene.
Joining Ayra Starr are Franglish and Tiakola, two of the most celebrated names in French hip-hop, along with Gabzy, London’s rising Afro-fusion star, and Innoss’B, a pioneer of Afro-Congo music, all set to perform between July 9th and 11th, 2025.
The festival will also feature Amapiano’s finest as global trailblazers Piano People return to the beach with South Africa’s top artists and DJs. Afro Nation has confirmed that the legendary DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, also known as the Scorpion Kings, will make their debut in Portugal, bringing the full force of Amapiano to the main stage. Joining them will be DBN Gogo, who has ascended to headliner status following a year of groundbreaking success.
The first-phase lineup also includes electronic music pioneer Oskido, rising London-based star Rosey Gold, and the dynamic Vigro Deep. Fans can also expect performances from Mörda, Shakes & Les, and KMAT, ensuring nonstop energy throughout the festival.
Driven by a commitment to African culture and music, Afro Nation has been uniting the diaspora since 2019. The festival not only showcases the diversity of music, fashion, food, and dance but also brings together a global community from over 160 countries. Afro Nation has hosted unforgettable experiences across three continents, elevating African music and culture to new heights.
In anticipation of the fifth anniversary, The Malachite Group (TMG), organizers of Afro Nation, stated, “We told you we had major moves planned for our fifth year anniversary party in Portugal! 2025 will be a special year for the Afro Nation community, and this is just the start. Don’t miss your chance to join us on the beach again next summer… Together we move!”
As excitement builds for Afro Nation Portugal 2025, TMG has also planned a series of unmissable events in London, starting with Afro Nation Presents LIT at Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace on Friday, October 4th, followed by Piano People Presents Kelvin Momo at Troxy on Saturday, October 5th.
Afro Nation Portugal 2025 promises to be a vibrant celebration of African culture, pushing the boundaries of live music and creating unforgettable experiences for fans worldwide.
