Renowned veteran actors Kanayo O Kanayo and Madam Saje are set to be honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the upcoming 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards. The founder of the BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, announced the accolades in a statement released on Friday, September 27, 2024.
“Why must we wait until our movie heroes have passed away to give them awards? While posthumous awards are commendable, it is far better for recipients to receive their honors while they are still alive,” Oloketuyi stated.
He continued, “Actress Fausat Balogun, known as Madam Saje, and Kanayo are icons we grew up watching. They have inspired the current generation of actors and have remained influential in the industry, which is why we selected them as this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winners.”
The awards ceremony will take place at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State, on November 24. Previous recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award include notable actors such as Toyin Adegbola, Madam Kofo, and Adebayo Salami.
