The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has condemned the recent mockery of viral testimonies shared by its members, asserting that the Church does not condone falsified accounts. The Church has urged Nigerians to be cautious about the content they encounter online, citing that some bloggers are manipulative and may distort the context of the testimonies.
The viral videos included dramatic claims, such as one where a member alleged that a lion had rescued him and directed him to safety. In another video, a female member claimed she wrestled away AK-47 rifles from robbers, while a male member reported surviving multiple attacks unharmed. These testimonies have been met with skepticism and ridicule on social media.
Pastor Chidi Louis, Head of Public Relations and Media for the Church, responded to the controversy: “These videos are an attempt to discredit the work of God. The testimonies have been taken out of context or doctored. The woman involved was recounting a dream, not an actual event. These viral clips are misleading and meant to ridicule our faith.”
He further advised the public to refer to the Church’s official platforms for the full context of the testimonies and to disregard misleading online content. “We urge Nigerians to avoid believing everything they see online. The actual testimonies are being misrepresented to tarnish the Church’s reputation,” he added.
